Orange County offers rebates of up to $1000 for the purchase of energy efficient upgrades to their homes.

The Orange County Homeowner Energy Efficiency Program, OCHEEP combines energy education with rebates to Orange County residents. Unlike most programs there are a series of requirements that the homeowner must fulfill to qualify for the rebates, The great thing about the program is that the rebate can be combined with the Federal Tax Rebate offered for Energy Star rated products and the recently announced State of Florida “Cash For Clunker” energy rebates. This energy program helps make purchasing a new air conditioning system more affordable than ever! To qualify for the rebates residents must:

1. Form or be in a group of 10 or more
2. Attend a workshop to learn about how energy is wasted in the home- Greens Energy Systems is offering workshops. Call Greens for details (407)-282-5000.
3. Sign the online Orange County Energy Star Pledge
4. Have an energy audit done on your home- This can be done using Greens Energy Technicians. Call Greens Energy for details (407) 282-5000.
5. Hire a contractor install energy efficient upgrades to your home
6. Choose from a list of rebates
Then submit a rebate request form.
