Home Heating Oil Tank Removal and Abandonment Program Orange County's ReNEW Home Heating Oil Tank Removal/Abandonment (HHOT) Program is accepting new applications to help County homeowners remove old heating oil tanks on their property. With hundreds of residual home heating oil tanks still existing within Orange County's older communities, the Environmental Protection Division received grant funds to continue the program for the 2006-2007 fiscal year. Removing or properly abandoning the tanks will benefit the homeowner and Orange County's natural resources by stopping a potential source of groundwater contamination.
