Don’t get stuck in a power outage with an electric generator that won’t start. We about to face what could be an active hurricane season. It is important that before a weather event you test your generator and top of the fuel tank. It’s also a good idea to add fuel conditioning and additives to clean the fuel. This should be done every year. This will prevent algae building up on sitting electric generators. Bacteria feeds on algae which in turn create sludge that could clog the generators fuel lines. This problem can usually be cured by the addition of algaecide, biocide, and a fuel stabilizer. Please follow your generators manufactures maintenance guidelines to ensure the safe operation of your generator.
